Understanding the impact of rising credit card processing fees
Credit card carriers charge businesses (including MWI Animal Health) processing fees when transacting credit card payments from customers. Historically, MWI has absorbed 100% of credit card-related processing and transaction fees to ensure that you can pay for your order using any payment method that is best for you and your business.
These transaction fees are on the rise for all businesses that allow credit card payments, adding financial stress and causing businesses to offset these costs by making changes or reducing services in other areas of their business.
We have implemented a 1.5% credit card processing fee as of December 1, 2024
In an effort to avoid increasing product prices to absorb these rising costs, MWI has implemented a 1.5% credit card processing fee on all credit card payment transactions effective December 1, 2024.
Note that MWI will not profit from these changes. We will continue to absorb a substantial portion of the credit card fees assessed by the credit card carriers.
How to avoid processing fees
As has always been our practice, under our current terms of service, no processing fees will be charged for customer payments made using ACH, debit card, or check. You can avoid a credit card processing fee by easily setting up any one of these alternative payment methods on your store.mwiah.com account.
